Professional Background

I have taught English (19th c. British literature, and poetry and poetics) at a wide range of colleges and universities. I have been teaching in my research field of 19th c. spiritualism and the occult at Stanford since 2017.

How has your PhD at Duke shaped your work life?

Having the freedom to research a broadly interdisciplinary topic as a graduate student, while also learning 19th c. literature and culture and Emplire studies in depth has given me great professional flexibility as I am part of a 2 career humanities couple.
