During my Ph.D. program I took great pleasure in my work at the Thompson Writing Studio and as a teaching fellow at Durham Tech Community College. Prior to joining NCSSM, I worked briefly as an academic advisor at Duke.
My graduate work at Duke reinforced the joy of teaching writing as well as the importance of strong mentorship. Students at all stages of their educational career need the tools and space the humanities can provide to practice self-expression and articulate their vision for their own future.
