Professor in the School of English
Upon defending my dissertation, I took up my current position in China's only public Sino-American university. My experiences investigating foundational questions about literature and aesthetics prepared me to teach the general education World Literature survey. Moreover, I have had several opportunities to teach more advanced classes on topics closer to my doctoral research, including classes on existentialism, realism and modernism in fiction, the Bildungsroman, and a special seminar on Simone de Beauvoir's The Second Sex.
