Professional Background

I entered the Management Development Program with General Electric upon graduation. Stayed there for 2 years and then moved on to working as a consultant for a software company. Got an MBA, had three kids, lived in Mongolia for a year. Upon return, I got an MSEd in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. Now have many years of teaching experience both in business English and with Wharton graduate students (persuasive speaking and writing). Currently, I work with internal and external stakeholders to develop new education programs, particularly programs for international students.

How has being an English graduate from Duke University help shape your professional success?

I can write with a clear and effective attention to audience and objective. This skill is rare in many fields, including business and education.
