Editorial intern at One Story magazine and Algonquin Books of Chapel Hill
If I hadn't been an English major, I would never have made the connections I needed to succeed in the publishing industry today. The Duke in New York: Arts and Media program helped me define my career goals and get my foot in the door, and the critical reading and writing skills I developed in my English classes gave me an edge when I was applying for jobs in the field. Thanks to the people I met at Duke, I was able to move to the city after graduation and find a job working with amazing writers and editors.
