Writing is one of my favorite parts of my job as an attorney, and as a former judicial clerk, I understand the power of crafting a compelling story for the jury or concisely explaining a flaw in opposing counsel's argument. My English background has shaped not only how I write, but how I communicate, whether it be in oral argument or outside of court. I also received an opportunity during law school to write and present a paper during a Law and Literature conference and enjoyed writing about the criminal justice system in Charles Dickens' novels! My career has been forever shaped by my English degree from Duke.
