Assistant Professor of African American and Caribbean literature, with a focus on slavery studies and women's and gender studies.
My English degree from Duke gave me a strong foundation in African American and Caribbean literature, which has served as the basis for my research and teaching. Additionally, the different pedagogical opportunities in the English Department (serving as teaching assistants and instructors, attending pedagogy workshops) prepared me to teach at the college level.
