Learning how to read carefully, to write clearly, to think critically, and (most of all) to llove literature beyond measure-- this was the legacy of my English major at Duke. I have loved teaching and I plan to continue this profession with the wise and venerable models of Helen Bevington, Reynolds Price, Grover Smith, Elgin Melllown to inspire me.
