2010
I graduated from law school in 2013 and began practicing at a ten-attorney law firm in Iowa City, Iowa. I am developing a general law practice, and enjoy representing clients in matters ranging from estate planning to medical malpractice lawsuits.
Many people believe that all lawyers are adept at reading and writing. This is not true. In my short career, I've seen countless attorneys misread statutes and court opinions, and read hundreds of poorly written documents. The critical reading, researching, and writing skills I learned as an English major at Duke have enabled me to develop and articulate everything from contractual provisions to winning legal arguments. I'm forever grateful to my college English professors for teaching me how to read, research, and write thoughtfully. These values have truly given me a leg-up in the legal marketplace.
