Earning my English degree from Duke has played a significant role in every facet of a career that has had its share of twists and turns - starting out as a reporter for the Associated Press to my current position as in-house counsel in higher education (while also continuing to pursue my writing). My abiliity to write clearly, concisely and persuasively, which I discovered and refined while at Duke, along with an attending confidence in my writing, have been invaluable. I owe quite a lot to the English curriculum and writing professors I had at Duke.
