Professional Background

After graduating from Duke, I attended law school at the University of Texas school of law, where I graduated with honors. I began my legal career at Weil, Gotshal & Manges in New York where I focused on complex commercial, bankruptcy, and mass torts litigation. After two years at Weil, I left New York to return to North Carolina where I completed a two-year clerkship in the Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of NC. Following my clerkship, I joined Yates McLamb & Weyher and now focus my practice on commercial litigation and medical malpractice defense.

How has being an English graduate from Duke University help shape your professional success?

I could not do what I do for a living without the skills I learned from the Duke English Department. Duke is where I learned how to be a passionate and effective writer--a skill which has been immeasurably valuable in my career as a litigator.
