How has your English degree from Duke shaped your work life?
At Duke I met the professor who set me on my path in life: Dr. Joseph A. Porter. I took Dr. Porter's Shakespeare classes, worked as his paid research assistant, and he directed my senior independent project. I then went to graduate school in English at UNC-Greensboro, where I received both my Master's and PhD in English. I have a 30+ year teaching career, have written five books, and have published several scholarly articles. I trace it all back to Dr. Porter, and was very sad to hear he had passed.
