Senior Program Project Manager, BELL- Building Educated Leaders for Life

After college, I joined Teach for America and taught ELA to 8th graders in Atlanta, GA for 7 years. Then I joined the educational non-profit BELL. We provide quality summer and after school education and enrichment programs to over 15,000 Pre-K- 8th grade scholars across the U.S. I help design our program and I help evaluate it's effectiveness.

It has definitely helped me become an effective and engaging educator of Language Arts and Reading. I was able to really show many young the importance of literacy in our society. Everything from social media, to constructing emails and text messages, to speaking in front of audience and interpreting visual media involves some form of literacy. In my work with BELL, I have the intricate, yet necessary task of creating curriculum materials, handbooks and training materials that teachers all across the country utilize to ensure that all kids in this country receive a quality education throughout the school year.
