Professional Background

I have worked as an editor and librarian in the private sector, academia, and now government.

How has being an English graduate from Duke University help shape your professional success?

Being an English major taught me how to think critically and write well. At Duke and in my subsequent graduate studies, I received a solid liberal arts education that has given me a broad perspective and turned me into a lifelong learner. I believe there is still room for generalists in an increasingly specialized world.
