There are many opportunities for students to be recognized for their writing and scholarship. The English department holds two Creative Writing contests each year (one for fiction and one for poetry) and a contest for critical essays.  Awards are also given to students who excel in particular areas of study.  In addition, several scholarships are awarded each year.
