Stefan de la Pena Waldschmidt
Stefan Waldschmidt is a Ph.D Student in English whose research focuses on the aesthetics of cost-benefit analysis and the narratives that Jeremy Bentham's utilitarianism makes possible for nineteenth-century British Literature. His work on the poetry of physiology textbooks can be found in Victorian Studies and his work on Bentham's sex writings has been published in Nineteenth-Century Contexts. He will defend his dissertation, "The Complete Bentham: Rationality's Afterlife in Victorian Literature" in March 2017.
