Modernist Cultures

Professor Michael Valdez Moses
Faculty Profile:

Modernist Cultures is a journal, published twice a year, that seeks to use the resources of the internet to foster debate between scholars working within different intellectual traditions and fields of inquiry, such as anthropology, art history, cultural studies, ethnography, film studies, history, literature, musicology, philosophy, sociology, urban studies, and visual culture. Articles focus on the multiple contexts of modernity (aesthetic, cultural, historical, philosophical, political, social, technological, and visual etc.), and consider issues of cultural production and circulation in order to rethink existing scholarly paradigms, the work of established figures, and received conceptions of what matters in modernism's diverse cultures.
