My experience as an English major at Duke has helped me: 1) With verbal and writing skills for sermon preparation, 2) With grammar and editing resources for publishing newsletters, bulletins, and articles, 3) With skills and resources, including vocabulary to communicate with individuals and groups via email and other social media, 4) With background in writing and editing skills to draft and publish the first edition of my personal memoirs, 5) a love for and commitment to reading (introduction to the slogan "read yourself full, write yourself empty."
