Lawyer with focus on public policy and regulatory compliance
I really enjoyed majoring in English at Duke. What was not to like? My academic life consisted of reading and talking about great literature! In doing so, I found my own voice in critical thought, I gained confidence in forming and presenting my own ideas, refining along the way the skills of how to develop and support my particular point of view from the text of what I read. These are crucial tools for the lawyer and policymaker I was to become, first for the US government, and now for the UK government. And, on a personal note, having read and studied much of the Bard's work while at Duke imbued my move to London last summer äóñ not to mention my place of work, just a few doors down from Shakespeare's Globe, with special meaning!
