How has being an English graduate from Duke University help shape your professional success?

Effective and compelling written and spoken English have been essential to my professional career as an administrator, teacher, and performance artist in diverse settings. As an English major at Duke, I learned critical skills in analyzing and presenting ideas and insight into effective writing and speaking to shape a compelling message for diverse audiences. Augmented by practical dramal training through Duke Players and Hoof and Horn, I developed the confidence needed to speak to audiences of hundreds or thousands.
