How has being an English graduate from Duke University help shape your professional success?

My English degree from Duke has grounded my professional work in skills like close listening and clear writing. These may seem like self-evident requirements for doing a job well, but I was surprised to find how my abilities stood out compared to my peers at Columbia. I now plan to seek my PhD in medical anthropology, using these crucial tools of communication and historicity to strengthen the narrative for health as a human right.
